~Read the anti-horse comments on comment threads. Notice how even the slightest change to the process, such as banning double decker trailers for horses, is met with opposition. Equine welfare is of no concern. The main concern is greed - getting paid to dump their horses and keeping the lines moving as fast as possible.   ~Arm yourself with facts, not opinions or hearsay. Read the investigations and research the mounds of information that is available. Be informed when you contact your legislators. Know the arguments they are using and be prepared to present the facts that dispute their claims. Read information from both sides. Don't assume everything you read on pro-horse sites is correct, either. Do your research and make sure you have solid facts to back any statements or data you quote.
